Reflections on how Blogging affects the community

Blogs today are not just diary writing... Almost all the blogs are filled with multimedia features such as videos, sound and edited images. Some even you can find flash animations on their postings.

So to what extend has Blogging become today?

From businesses stand point, we found serious blogs that are created for the special needs among their business partners as part of their communications channel. These category of B2B and B2C blog site are more tamed in the sense that their purpose is to enable exchange of good business ideas or solution and nothing more than that. Some good examples would be http://socialmediab2b.com/ and http://blogs.adobe.com/

BUT from a political point of view, blogs are also used as a key platform to air the voices and influence the community. This is especially useful when it comes to a society like Singapore, where the political landscape is very much restrictive and controlled. The blogger of then http://mrbrownshow.blogspot.com/ and now http://www.mrbrownshow.com/ have successfully used this platform to make his standpoint heard.
