There are no formal classification for the Blogging community however, Blog sites are very much determine by the topic that they have developed for.
For example, we can easily find a travel related Blog on the web. This is because it is common among the young people whom likes to put up their collection of travel images on the blog to share with the other communities.
There is also another type of similar Photo Blog where the Blogger intention is to showcase this digital photography works. One good example would be http://open-eye-photography.blogspot.com/, where the blogger created the site together with a forum for discussion purpose.
Facebook also has a blog site for the teens and young adults. The blog site is part of the bigger Facebook community that has other attractions such as online games that keeps the community engaged at all times.
The not-so-common Blog would be something like for religious group or charity organisation. Just like Christian Blog - Compassion, they are using this communications platform to reach out to potential sponsors and supports.
In conclusion, blogging has already become part of our life, irregularless of their classifications. The more important thing to the Blogging community is that they have identify that Blog can also serve a excellent communication platform.
